Poetry: What Keeps Me Going

by nightinGALE

Forget the past
Look forward to the future
Something good is up ahead

Reach for the sky
Keep your feet on the ground
Stick to your friends
And you’ll be alright

Keep on learning
Don’t ever give up
‘Coz there’s something good
In each day that comes

Seek for knowledge
Search for the truth
Grow in wisdom
Keep your faith alive!

Don’t lose hope
Keep up the fight
Don’t worry I’m here
to make it alright.

Learn to love
Live your life
Keep on dreaming
Keep on believing
Live for the most important people of your life.

Seek for God
Learn from Him
Be enlightened by His never
ending love
Find your way back
to Him
And I assure you,
You will live a wonderful
Life with God by your side!

Poetry: 16 november 2008

by YAJi

suspended
in a time
in a land of tall shadowy green leaves
in the dawn
bombarded
surrounded
with dark silhouettes
of the branches above.

seated
unceremoniously in the
dusty
stained
white bridge edges

and the frogs
and insects
and creatures
croak and roam and hop

as they blend in
the background of
suspended
temporary
peace.

loathe the disturbing
wretched
footsteps of the same kind
(no you’re not the same; you’re different –
they just look like you)

and you long to hide
as your heart races
because maybe
they’ll come for you so you’d
do the things of
their world.

you refuse.

you look away and sit still
and you hold your breath
because you don’t want
to be seen.

but you can’t stand it,
you get down and
runrunrun.

because you are the
last one

with the white soul

of the children of your god.

Poetry: You are You

by icntblvuseddat

A thousand nights and a thousand days

Wasted...

I held the box of matches

Their black heads taunting me

They offered me light

But still I refused

I knew something was lurking in the shadows

I knew not whether it was good or bad

But Darkness offered security

If it was bad at least I would never see...

But...

What if...

Is brightness the way?

...I positioned the stick of wax

The rough edges of wood at my fingertips...

I heard the friction between them

I could feel my heart beat...

I took a deep breath

Closed my eyes...

Hesitation filled every bit of me

But I had to face the truth

The gleam blinded me

My eyes took time to adjust...

I soon grew afraid

My lips quivered, ready to kill the uneven flame

Yet beauty devoured my sight

Kindness clung to me...

In that moment I held Peace

Her hands, warm and comforting,

Were embellished with Contentment’s jewels

And Relief’s rings adorned her fingers

But.

Wind came...

Flowing in a movement of her own

The flames soon danced to her rhythm

Figures around me came to be distorted...

Behind beauty were shadows

Light’s flickering altered kindness...

And the jewels of Peace were thieved

Was brightness the way?

Was fire and warmth the answer?

Confusion and madness has now trapped me

And still I remain

Unsure.

Poetry: Promise

by: W@k0k0

We made a promise
Under a tree
We were still children then
We promised each other eternity

After that you had to leave
It gave me reason enough to grieve
That I had to face the world alone
Alone...and on my own
I waited and hoped

That you'd return someday
So we can go back to the days
When you were still there to stay
I never saw you againAnd you never saw the pain
Never wiped the tears
Never healed the heartbreaks while others mocked and leered

But you also gave me something
The pain made me braver
The tears made me stronger
The heartbreaks made me wiser

Days would pass without a thought of the past
But once in a while I remember
The joys of a lifetime?
The things that last?
They all happened because of you
